NON-LIVESTOCK PROJECT JUDGING INFORMATION
All Marion County 4-H members MUST participate in project judging for their projects to be considered complete. This year, we will off in-person or live via ZOOM options on JUNE 22, 2021. We will also be offering the chance for members to complete pre-judging on Flipgrid.
In order to be eligible for county awards AND the Ohio State Fair, you MUST participate in live judging (in-person or ZOOM) on June 22, 2021.

PREPARING FOR JUDGING
To assist 4-H members in preparing for project judging and to provide for a positive experience during project judging and exhibition at the Marion County Fair.
Refer to pages 8-14 in the electronic version of the Marion County 4-H Handbook for additional information and project-specific requirements. Due to COVID-19 guidelines, nutrition skillathon will not be offered in 2021. Members will not be required to take their projects out of the booth displays for the awards on June 28.
Due to COVID-19 guidelines, it will be up to the food judges to determine if they will taste test all projects or none of the projects, so please keep that in mind as you prepare.
IN-PERSON PROJECT JUDGING PRE-REGISTRATION
Youth must be pre-registered ONLINE no later than Friday, June 17 at 11:59 p.m. in order to participate in the in-person/ZOOM project judging offering. Please, please, please make sure to indicate what project you are going to be getting judge AND if you will be in-person or on ZOOM. If you do not see your project below, please email Megan Watson, intern, email@example.com.
Included in the link below are the specific project judging registrations. Sign-up for a time to have each member’s non-livestock project judged. Each link is specific to a category with specific projects. DO NOT sign up for a different category if the time you would like is taken. YOU WILL BE MOVED.
JUNE 22 DOESN'T WORK FOR YOU?
If you are unable to attend project judging, the FLIPGRID module is now available and will be open through June 18 at 11:59 p.m. PLEASE do not wait until the evening of June 18 to submit your alternative.
Youth will be expected to create a 3 to 10--minute video demonstrating what they’ve learned working through their project. Flipgrid videos should include:

- Demonstrate their knowledge related to their project…
- The activities I completed include…
- I learned about…
- My favorite part of the project was…
- The hardest part of the project was…
- I will use the skills I learned…
- This is my project display. [Explain it.]

**Youth who participate in the Flipgrid option will be ineligible for county awards and the Ohio State Fair.
