Marion County 4-H Cloverbud Key Leader: Amy Berridge
For Youth Age 5 and in Kindergarten - 8 Year Old Youth
The 4-H Cloverbud program will introduce participants to the many projects and activities 4-H has to offer.
*Who can join? - Anyone 5 years of age (as of January 1) and in kindergarten through the second grade may enroll in the 4-H Cloverbud program, so be sure the club you join has other Cloverbud members.
*How can I join? To sign up to be a 4-H Cloverbud member just complete a Cloverbud enrollment card. Your first year enrolled in the Cloverbud program will be considered as your 1st year in 4-H. Example. . . Chris Clover has been a 4-H member for 2 years and is now 8 and in the third grade. He will then begin choosing his own projects. When he fills out the enrollment card, he needs to put that this is his 3rd year in 4-H.
An adult interested in being trained to be a Cloverbud Advisor, must follow the guidelines of becoming a 4-H Advisor and meet with Ron Sanderson, Extension Educator, 4-H Youth Development to learn about the Cloverbud requirements and curriculum.
Cloverbud Membership in Local Club: Eligible 4-H Cloverbud members may join a local 4-H club, if the club has a trained advisor offering the Cloverbud program. The 4-H Cloverbud program has a special curriculum that is age appropriate for these children and it needs to be followed completely. Advisors leading the Cloverbud program need to go through a training, before they are able to teach the Cloverbud children within their club.
County Cloverbud Program: The County 4-H Cloverbud program meets February 9, March 1, April 12, May 17, June 14, and July 3 during the Marion County Fair. The club meets from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the Ohio State University Extension, Marion County office. Each meeting cost $2.00 for supplies used during the meeting. Potential members can call Ohio State University Extension, Marion County (740/223-4040) and ask to be put on the county Cloverbud mailing list and we will see that you are sent an announcement.
